Self-Motivation

be inspired..., personal No Comments »

Hello! Hello! It’s been a long time since I last posted on this blog. I’ve been very busy juggling my commitments and I have to admit.. I sometimes lack the inspiration and the motivation to give my best at those areas… makes me feel like I am just existing, more like a robot programmed to do things in monotony. I don’t know. I guess I am at the point of asking myself… where do I go from here, or, what is my purpose now? and some other self-realizations that would help me sum up how I can be my best in all of my dealings and how I can be a blessing to others.

Motivation is what makes you begin to do things. It makes you commit to the endeavor that you ought to pursue, which defines your purpose in life. I think motivation is not that hard to find, especially the extrinsic ones. The intrinsic, I think is what one needs to search for to have that sustaining power to continue what has started.

I guess, at present I am at the point of finding that sustainance to keep me motivated with what I need to accomplish and finish. But then at times, procrastination make me delay the things that I can become. Oh, I have always perceived myself to be this and that, and I am so capable of doing so much, but then, OY!

Inspiration, I have also lacked in along the way, and has affected me in a very significant ways. Before I have looked at problems in a positive way but then it made me numb after… It shouldn’t be that way, WAKE UP, ELLA!

So there, I have babbled once more. I guess I really need to get back to writing to express myself.

Anyway, sometimes we know the answers to all our conquests and we know how to deal these and that.. but the execution has to be done in a consistent manner and with conviction and commitment.

haaay.. I need to read more once again! and pray some more too!

Well, if you are also into what I am into right now , then there is no use to punish ourselves, will it? It is never too late to try and getup once more and fly like peter pan, huh? Start with happy thoughts! and again giving your trust to the Lord and have Him be the captain of the ship.

So here’s to motivation and becoming whole again!

An Inspiration from a Church Worker

be inspired..., personal No Comments »

Let me just deviate from the theme of this blog to give way to an inspiration which was brought to me today.

The joy of knowing that the Lord will always be there to cleanse our souls before we join Him has been realized during my attendance to our Sunday church service today at Tabernacle of Grace Assemblies of God.

It is inspiring because the Lord is there to comfort us especially in times of our defeat in life, and He makes us triumphant after when we cling on to Him. And I thank Him for taking care of those who remain loyal and faithful to Him and most importantly, to those who serve Him.

Tita Beth Barredo, a servant of God in our church, is one of my favorite workers there. She is a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Women’s organization there, an active servant who would come up with nice gifts for the members and attendees of the church especially during special ocassions. She loves talking to anyone in the church, whether with the aged or with the youth. She even leads the people to worship, and sings there too. Despite of her active presence and her prominence in the church, she remains humble and pleasant to all who is there. She grew old with God, never married but you’ll see the joy when she’s in the church.

Then she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has undergone a series of operations. You see, you won’t even notice her deterioration. Seems that her strength has never deteriorated. She continued her works in the church… and more and more people are being blessed with her and her life.

But then she got weaker and weaker until even it is against her will, she couldn’t attend the church service anymore and we all miss her. After the service, we all went to her, visited her. The thing about this is that, she is really ready to join Jesus… she is ready to face death but we still believe in the power of Jesus to heal.. but then it is His will that should be done.

The thing is, while I was gazing upon her face, I couldn’t help but burst into tears. Not because of how weak she looked, or because I pity her. Actually, my heart was touched by her strength, not just an ordinary physical strength, but the strength that is holy… from our Lord. She looked very pleasant and blooming. I even told her, how blooming she looked. And all she could say was, “the Lord has given me this blooming look. Praise Him…”

Despite of her sufferrings, she said nothing but praises to our God and you can see how much she praises God for everything. And as she faces her future, she just said, “Pastor, I’m ready. His will be done.”

I guess that Jesus is really a shepherd who looks after His sheep no matter what or how we may be. After the death of our physical body, there is life with Christ, and this time, the soul will live forever with Him if we chose to be with Him. We may feel sad upon a life that will leave us but we will be happy and joyful knowing that we will all come home to Christ. This really I believe.

I admire tita Beth’s courage and conviction upon facing this phase and trial in her life. Whatever happens, let God be praised! Thanks tita for your inspiration.

Lullabies for your Child’s Growth

be inspired..., parenting No Comments »

When we sing a lullaby to our children, it gives them a sense of comfort of security. The kind of love and affection that is conveyed in the way you sing it goes deep down into their hearts and this will have a great impact in their lives as they grow. When a child is truly loved by the home, then they take this love with them and they impart this love, unconditionally.

Now it really touches me when artists can actually compose a song for their children and I can’t help but imagine how they are at home. I could visualize that artist being a parent to his/her child. A father that grabs a guitar and sings to his children as they sleep…. I don’t know, but the melody created by the guitar is truly a heartfelt music…

As I listen to these songs, I would catch myself in tears as I am overwhelmed with feelings..

Here is the song that really caught me… from Kenny Loggins.

When you feel afraid,
When you lose your way, I’ll find you,
Just try to smile, and dry your eyes,
I will bring back the moon into your skies.
And ever you will, remember darling, I’ll be there to:

Say to you
I’ll promise you
I’ll promise to
Comfort you and say to you
Darling, I’ll be there just for you.

There’s so much to learn,
and when you want me
Then I’ll show you,
And through the years,
You’ll always be
The lullaby in the heart of the child in me.

Whenever you will, remember darling
I’ll be there to

Say to you
I’ll promise you
I’ll promise to
Comfort you and say to you
Darling, I’ll be there just for you.

Hold it, feel it,
Music is in your heart.
When you need it,
Just keep listening,
Let it sing, let it sing.

Though you’ve grown away
No matter how you’ll change
I’ll know you.
And when you tire of life alone,
There will always be one sure way back home

Just turn on the quiet,
and you close your eyes
and listen inside
(unconditional)
(unconditional)
(unconditional)

I’ll be there to sing to you,
I promise you
I promise to
Comfort you
and sing to you.

And darling, I’ll be there,
Anytime, and anywhere,
Cody I’ll be there just for you.

Kenny Loggins did this song to his second child, Cody. How nice… How loved…

Well, we don’t need to know how to pluck a guitar or hit the right notes. Love itself can already set your music straight and besides, no other voice can ever be as angelic as ever for your kids. You will always be the best singer for them. So go ahead and express your love every night with a song of love as you put them to sleep.

this is one of the children’s book written by a famous writer dr. seuss, and was apparently one of the songs in the musical play “seussical the musical” which will be performed by our grade three and four students of brightwoods school on december 6, 2007 at sm clark cinema.

as i listen to the lyrics of the song, i started thinking… yup, truly the mind has a lot of power to think about even the most impossible thing… thus making it possible in the process.your creative mind can take you to places, and it affects your life.. your future, your destiny. you think and you become. imagine the things that your mind can think of and how it controls you. the mind is very powerful.. powerful enough to heal you, and the power of attraction to the universe to agree and give you what you desire the most.

so start coming up with your ideas as to how you would want your life to be. start thinking about the things you have and be grateful about it, and start feeling good about yourself.  and see how it will change your life. unleash its power by thinking positively. if your mind is bombarded with negativity… that is how your life would become in the process… that’s the secret to life.

good thing i watched this movie, “the secret”. it was shared to me by a very good friend of mine.  and im imparting it to others. i have made the decision of not allowing despair to control my life. and looking at Him alone can already control all the thinks you can think and convert it into something that gives purpose and meaning to your life.

let us start teaching this to our kids as well. let us make them explore the limits of their imagination so they can go beyond them. let us make them see the beauty of the world to attract more positivity to how they perceive life. let us train them on how they can make use of their minds in pursuing their goals.

oh, the thinks you can think!
oh, the thinks you can think!

stardust

and i thought i’ll never fall in love with movies anymore since “the cutting edge”, but here i am again finding myself reminiscing the words that were uttered by claire danes in the movie “stardust”. my husband and i watched it yesterday at SM movie theater. this movie left us both with a smile and enchantment.

“stardust” is a movie about a young shopboy named who wishes to prove his love to a girl named victoria by crossing the other side of an old English wall, and head towards the Kingdom of Stormhold, where there are supernatural inhabitants such as magic, witches and spells. Tristan was driven to get the falling star, Yvainne which was played by Claire Danes, and together they journeyed back to the Village of Wall to bring the star back to Victoria in exchange for her hand in marriage. It is in this journey that the two fall in love as they endure the wickedness of the witch, played by Michelle Pfeiffer and the prince of stormhold who is after the stone that the Yvainne possesses to gain the kingship over Stormhold.

one thing that struck me in this movie was when Yvainne confessed her love to Tristan… Love is something unbearable, unpredictable, uncontrollable, unexplainable… a feeling that she couldn’t contain because her heart seems does not belong to her anymore but it belongs to Tristan. She also said that love is unconditional. One should not try so hard to prove it or to make a chain of devotions. What matters is the heart… giving your heart to that person and that person giving his heart to you… aww… now i’m kinda poor in memorizing lines so i suggest you watch it and experience the magic of those words as it strikes your heart as you hold your loved one’s hand…

oh and you’ll appreciate the humor that goes with it too… plus some funny tad as well…

so grab some popcorn and experience an enchanting moment in a love story of Tristan and his star Yvainne.

How to Live a Good Life

be inspired... No Comments »

mr. francis kong, a very famous businessman, resource speaker, and an author, had a talk once in the school where i am teaching. he discussed about excellence and how to live a good life. you know this guy, if you just hear and watch him talk… *sigh* his insights are very enlightening and encouraging. you can’t help but fall in love with this guy, so to speak.

so let me just share in this blog the things i remember about his topic during a seminar held in brightwoods school last june 13, 2005.

to live a better life is to have cause. having a cause is much higher than having a job. he said, “only those who pursue their cause live a good life.”  your cause defines your worth as a person. it is not what you do or have but it is what you contribute. parents, we teach our children the value of self-worth, for this shapes the character of a person. so as parents, we need to be advocates of confidence to our children. we should not destroy our children with fault-finding and criticisms but we should inspire them further to achieve their goals.

want to have a good life? mr. kong gave these tips:

1. increase productivity when times are tough. productivity leads to happiness. idleness leads to procrastination. we should not waste a day of our lifetime settling for less. to be successful involves waking up early, walking fast, working hard, and work smart, eat less, play hard and pray hard. come to think of it, having this as a part of your habit would lead to higher productivity plus more time for  more important things to life.

2. have good friends. your self-worth is valued by these people who come to know you so well but still manage to like you. choose your friends, for they will help you improve your worth.

3. trying times should be alive. trials are instruments to make us become more practical, better and wiser person. they make us face our fears, and confront our problems.  we should also conquer our fear of making mistakes. we need to face this and learn lessons from it.

4. invest and be inspired with your family. your list of priorities should be God, spouse, kids and career. let the family grow in love, care and respect. each member should be complementing each other. articulate and cultivate the art of caring and support in the family.

5. invest in your spiritual life. pray and dedicate everything to Him. serve Him using your talents and abilities. this will really give you a purpose, a cause in your life.

so there… another inspiring medicines for all of us… thanks, mr. kong!
