humor does it… September 3, 2007
i am not into stand-up comedy. i find them a little weird in a way… probably it’s because i don’t get most of their jokes. but the thing that amazes me though is how the audience actually react and respond to the punchlines which again, wow, too deep for me.
but when i get to watch some of these performers on stage, i began to see how versatile and spontaneous they are in delivering their lines and how they are able to connect to people. as they laugh together, aloud, i said to myself…
“oh well, humor does it!”
people of all ages, of all forms and kinds, are connected in a special way. language for example may be our instrument to communicate with others but when taken in a different way, it could lead to predicaments, confusion, and miscommunication. but laughter, humor… it’s a different thing. when things are taken lightly and we see life as a laughing matter, somehow, it makes us see things in a different perspective, in a positive angle. so no matter how much we have missed in our lives or if we find ourselves longing for something more or better, just laugh it out!
john blue, a famous stand-up comedian, became very famous in the show “the last comic standing” always gets a standing ovation and the crowd goes wild each time he throws out his spills. each time, he is always left the last comic standing. amazingly, the positivity of this person is really quite contagious and it would touch you somehow. john blue has a special case of cerebral palsy, a neurological disorder that affects body movement and body coordination caused by some abnormalities of the brain. he uses his condition to be his way of correcting the common misconceptions of people on others with disabilities. and that makes him very famous.
“oh well, humor’s done it!”
how inspiring, don’t you think?
